CREATE is the senior portfolio event that is held each year for Tyler School of Art and Architectures graduating graphic and interactive design seniors. In the past the event was held in-person but recently has transitioned to a virtual format. New to CREATE this year is a celebration and in-person networking event that will be held separately from the portfolio reviews for GAID graduating seniors, Alumni, and sponsors. For this project I worked with a team of designers to develop a brand, produce designs for multiple mediums, and manage content for the events.
As the production manager on this project, I was in charge of organizing files and the production of content with a main focus on the scheduling and production of CREATE's social media content. I worked with my team members to come up with a concept for the event, design the logo, create a style tile to inform the event branding, edit photographs, design website and social media content, and organize and collect event information and logistics.
When deciding on a concept we narrowed our ideas down to three main concepts that would inform the design and represent our graduating senior class and design. The three ideas were “Breaking Boundaries”,“Taking Form”, and “Blend Merge Unite” with “Blend Merge Unite” reflecting the pathfinder and design tools in illustrator. We decided to go with “Blend Merge Unite” as our main theme and focused our design on overlapping shapes and transparency to represent this idea.
On our website we wanted to have three sections, a page describing CREATE's virtual portfolio reviews with a sign up form, the Create After Hours description with a RSVP form, and the main student section that links out to each students website.
One of my main tasks was to organize, collect, and produce content for both Tyler GAID's website and social media. For the social media, we designed a template for students to use to submit their photos for the student work posts and the website. The deliverables from the social media was creating a save the date post, event announcements, and the student work posts to promote our graduating seniors.
For CREATE After Hours, we wanted to create printed collateral for the networking event. We created a banner to recognize our sponsors and the event and name tags with different designs for graduating seniors, our junior volunteers, alumni and our sponsors.
